Ha … preparedness! Didn’t know that was in the Reds vocabulary? Nice job by the coaches to discuss the unlikely scenario and by McLain for listening, then executing!
Oh how I remember watching real doubleheaders at Crosley Field & Riverfront , started at 1:00PM,on Sundays , second game started about 20 minutes after the end of the first game . The players went in the clubhouse for the 20 minutes and a cheese sandwich, and right back for the start of the second game . What a deal it was , see the Dodgers twice for the price of one game . Once saw Drysdalee & Koufax start a DH. The best ones were Twilight /Night doubleheaders, started at 5:00 PM, second game immediately followed , seemed like they were normally on a Friday night. And yes, McLain's play was special Heads Up baseball.
Yeah - MsLain gettin' it done!!

Twi-night Doubleheaders were awesome! Two games for the price of one. Loved them & went to them as often as possible on Friday nights.
