To Krall's comment that it is harder to find a short stop than a corner infielder, I think they already have that. Play McLain at Short, Steer at 2B (his best position according to him), Stewart at 1B, Elly in CF, Friedl in LF. If you're able to get another big bat, adjust accordingly.

Sigh. Happy to stand pat with 83 wins. They are what they are.

At the risk of taking the Reds seriously as an organization: Friedl will be 30 and is probably done as an everyday player. We've seen his peak. Guys who don't get meaningful big league time until age 26 don't age well. Thank him for his service and look for a replacement. (They won't do this).

Steer is in almost the same boat. He'll be 28 but also didn't play until 25. Good teams simply don't play a 0.5-1.5 bWAR player at 145 games at first base or a corner outfield spot. They should be shopping for a platoon partner, at the very least. (They won't do this.)

Stephenson's a good dude and a heart of the team, but he's turning 30 and has always been injury-prone. We can't have Jose Trevino starting 85 games behind the plate again.

Lux was bad, actually. Negative WAR over 503 PAs. You can't have that if you're a serious team.
