A big thank you, a look toward next steps and a call for advertisers
I love building this community here with Charlie’s Chalkboard.
Today, we got our 1,000th subscriber. It means so much to have connected with you all. Thank you.
Now, I want to take the next step. I’m seeking out advertisers and brands that are looking to reach Cincinnati sports fans.
Adding in revenue allows me to invest even more into Charlie’s Chalkboard, add features like podcasts and travel to get more behind the scenes content.
I’ve weighed moving toward more of a subscriber model, and I’m open to that instead of advertising based on reader feedback. But right now, I see the advertising model as the way to go.

I think it’s a great idea to go out on your own Charlie. I really enjoy your writing and would pay $5 to $10 a month. That plus advertising revenue could provide a nice income for you. Good luck!

I am willing to pay $5 or so per month for your insights, as I do for others on Substack. However, I realize that if every subscriber did the same you still would not be making much.
